Visium Resources has been asked to identify candidates for the following Technical Support Representative position, located in Orlando, FL.
The Tech Support Representative’s primary responsibility is to work with Field Technicians remotely troubleshooting and upgrading Telephony Systems / PBX / Key System, eliminating disruptions and enhancing performance of customers’ business operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Remotely support a national network of telecom Field Techs over the phone.
- Knowledge of multiple PBX platforms required: Avaya, Nortel, NEC, Executone, Vertical Networks, Mitel, Panasonic, Toshiba, Shortel, and/or Other prominent Key Systems experience required.
- Communicate directly with customers (corporate & store level) to assist in solving on-site issues
- Remotely accessing customers’ networks to respond to work requests
- Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues pertaining to: voice, network or data installation
- Assessing customer network problems and determining scopes of work to remediate on-site issues
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with the extended Tech Support team as needed
- Other duties as requested, delegated or assigned.

Competencies: (required knowledge, skills, abilities)
- Knowledge of multiple PBX/Key System platforms – Able to Program and Troubleshoot
- Ability to troubleshooting dial tone and network cabling issues
- Experienced working with a 25-pair cable, and be able to direct others
- Must have the ability to work in a high-volume phone support environment
- Good verbal & written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills: Microsoft word, excel, accessing and working in web based technology
- Can read and understand schematic drawings
- Understanding of Telco Demarcations and interfaces
Education/Experience:
- Five years of related field experience
- A+ computer certification preferred
- Wireless and networking knowledge
- Structured Cable installation experience (BICSI knowledge a plus)
- Electrical background a plus
