Avant8 is a local advertising agency that specializes in digital marketing specifically with PPC and SEO. Avant8 touches all aspects of the digital marketing landscape, but PPC and SEO is our specialty. We work with a myriad of clients all around the US and we are currently experiencing a large growth spike. We are looking for people who want to grow with us. The Copywriter is responsible for writing engaging copy for both online and offline content, in long-form and short-form both independently and in a team setting, in accordance with Avant8’s client branding guidelines and overall content strategy plans. We are an advertising agency and we are in the service industry often we work to the deadlines that clients assign to us. We work in a high-pressure environment that is structured with deadlines. We will work with you in concordance with those rules of engagement to produce quality work that will be delivered to our clients.

  • We offer a flexible schedule. We will have some time that we will require you to be in the office, for example, company-wide meetings and content meetings. Avant8 will work with you on a schedule that will work for your situation.
  • We have a flexible working environment. Initially, we will require you to work all of your time inside the office. Based on performance and the working relationship we will allow you to work remote for some of your hours. For this reason, we are looking for people who are local and are willing to commute.
  • We have a casual & friendly work environment within our office if you would prefer to work within the office for all of your hours. We require business casual within the office, but that usually means a t-shirt and jeans that are not obscene or revealing.

  • On the job orientation to the world of digital marketing and advertising agency services. This will include orientation to the strategic writing that you would be working on.
What you will learn and/or already bring to the table:
  • Experience with or the ability to learn the industries of our clients. We currently work with everything from local dentists to international CBD companies. You will get via writing an understanding of these industries that only a digital marketing agency can offer.
  • Ability to generate compelling content. This will include editorial content for blog articles that will be published on our clients' sites. This might include sales and other marketing copy that could be published digitally or physically.
  • Understanding of how to engage an audience across our client’s social channels
  • Great/engaging writing (social posts, press release, listicles, help guides, etc.)
  • Research/organize facts related to the assigned topic and content type both online/offline to compile and organize writing ideas
  • Proofread and edit content for mistakes or additional ideas and guarantee that it is composed per directions, including from other writers, providing feedback when necessary
  • Ensure that all content is optimized for search engine optimization (SEO) and contains sufficient keyword placement
  • Create compelling titles, headlines and copy for all content based on the content type
  • Rewrite content or write from scratch depending on assignment requirements

Also please list a brief explanation of the first three pieces of content examples and how long you think it would take you to generate them. If you are considered we might send you an email with a writing assignment to see if you can write to the industries that we are servicing. Usually, we will do this because we were unable to find your portfolio information or we wanted a piece of information that was closer to the industries that we service. We will call to give guidance on this assignment to clear any questions before sending the email. Based on the performance of the piece we will then schedule an interview.

Experience: Entry

Education: Bachelor’s degree in writing, communication, or another related field. If you are currently in a tertiary education program that is fine as well.
